On a busy section of Lexington Avenue (64th Street) on the Upper East Side a new retail store opened recently to the delight of local residents and nearby workers. The opening of Schnipper’s Quality Soups is a return to the neighborhood for the restaurant owners, two brothers, who first operated Hale and Hearty from 1990 – 2006. With a legacy of quality and value, the owners have filled a void on the Upper East Side.

How this happened is that behind the scenes, Tri-Star’s clients, the long – time building owner reached out to the brothers as soon as the restaurant space became vacant again, and after some and back and forth negotiations, they struck a deal for a long – term commitment to the neighborhood. On their website, they gush how “in the very same space where they founded Hale and Hearty, the Schnipper brothers are thrilled to bring delicious soup to New York… “

By the looks of it, this nostalgic twist on a NY favorite will be around for a while.
